Buggy Information

We have been learning about buggies so we could create a buggy of our own. We have been working in buddies. My buddies is Katy. We first made a Survey then went out and asked the parents if they had a buggy, if they said yes we would ask them to sign the Survey. We made 5 of the same Surveys and got them all signed in then we entered the data into the computer. After we had entered the data we got a graph with all of the data in it. We found out what our buggy needs in it. Our buggy needs:
More storage
Can go on grass and the beach with drink holder.
Easy to push
Folds down small
Comfort
Comfortable seat belt
Big rubber wheels
Black buggy
Curved hod
Small buggy
New model.
They are all of the things that we have found out by using our data that we need to add onto our buggy.

This is a Link to the answers of our Surveys.

Pangrams

Pangrams
A Pangram is a sentence or a few sentences that have every letter of the alphabet in it.

My group made this pangram:

A quick but lazy fox and pig called Jack and Riven were running through the middle of the  big forest.

This is my own pangram:

A quick bird called Jilbo Kllbo was singing on a windowsill well a lazy fox was watching the bird clean her wings. The fox was called Max Victor. Max Victor was lying on a pillow with a unbrealla covering its head.
Well done Ella - great competition today.  Mrs K

Corbon's Art Center With Andrew Hall

Corbon's Art Center With Andrew Hall

This week we have started to research a artist named Andrew Hall. Andrew Hall is an artist that creates robots and any strange object's, sometimes he even creates things without a plan. Today Andrew had people that worked at the corbon art center, Ammie, tee and Bill. We got to create anything we wanted with the materials that Andrew had found. All of these materials are what we call rubbish but Andrew can see them as a sculpture or a creative creature as he thinks that he can turn them into something that not many people would think to do with it. We also had parents helping us build our creation.
For my creation my bodie was a broken phone, I got a paint brush and stuck it to the back of the phone with two cable ties. I added two extra cable ties to make arms and legs. On one arm I put a dried small pink brush & I made it a microphone. I found the numbers of a mobile phone to make a tummy. I attached it with cable ties. I got a barbie doll head and hid the head so the hair of the barbie doll was curving round the phone. With the brush I split it in half to make piggy tales with rubber band's. I put a split peg into the hair for a hair clip. For the tail ( the cable of the phone ) I rapped black plastic around the wire of the phone then stuffed white fluff into the bottom to make a tail. For the ears I got two see through bottle caps & poked a hole through both of them and tied a pink bow to create ears.
I enjoyed creating and seeing other people's work.
It was changlening tieing the bows for the ears with only      one piece of string
If I was to do this again I would make a smaller object or something  that is useful

This is my final product:

Wearable Art

My Wearable Art Journey
This is our vimeo. Click HERE to see our vimeo.
Scan with phone to see our qrcode

Monday 11/
Morning
The first step in my wearable art journey is to create the skirt of the dress.
Afternoon
Today we found out what materials are good for making a dress/skirt
I found out what materials you could put in our hair
I wondered what the top will look like tomorrow?
The most challenging part was getting the bubble wrap to form into a skirt
Now we need to start creating the top of the dress
Tomorrow I will plan and create the veil
The most fun part was seeing the result

Here is our planning sheet and us creating our skirt for our dress.

This is what we got up to by the end of the day

Tuesday 12/8/14
Morning

  • Today we are planning to do the top
  • The veil
  • Joining the top to the skirt to create the dress

Wednesday 13/8/14
Morning

Yesterday we completed the skirt by decorating the bottom of the dress and adding rainbow reflected fabric.
We had difficulty with cutting the strips of fabric.
We found out that the dress got really heavy when we started putting the bottle tops on the top.
Working in a group is annoying because we don't get to do my idea.
Our outfit reflects to our element (air) because our skirt and veil is made out of bubble wrap and inside the bubble wrap is air, and the fabric is rainbow.
The Torbay Learning Model helps us by making us use our plan and it tells us what to do.

Thursday 14/8/14
Overall

Overall I feel proud of what we've created.

The biggest success was completing the skirt of the dress
The most enjoyable part was seeing the result
The hardest part was deciding what to put in the hair
If I was to do this again I would choose earth for my element because there are more things for earth to put on my dress
I have learnt how to create a dress out of recycled air rubbish

This is our final result

My Holiday At Fauna Matia

My Holiday at Whanagata

We were nearly there. My mum was getting tired of driving as Max and I couldn't wait to arrive at Whanangata, we couldn’t sit any longer. It was the first Tuesday of the holidays and we were driving up  to Whanagata to sees our friends Bobbie, Hannah and Gemma.
When we arrived Max and I jumped right out of the car to grab some fresh air. We all trotted up to see Bobbie, Hannah and Gemma. Once we had said hello my mum told Max and I to go unpack the car, So max and I did what we were told and unpacked the car, the car was as full as a bull.
The car was unpacked and everybody didn’t know what to do. later Max, Hannah, Gemma and I went downstairs to play Marco-Polo.
The weather spoiled our holiday because there was only one crack of sunlight the whole trip, but we still had a lot of fun.

Capacity

I was Learning about Capacity and how much weight it could hold
I wondered  if we got our guess was right
I found out that you needed two different measuring cups to check that you had the amount that you thought it is
It was tricky guessing them in the right order
I enjoyed it when we got the right amount of water so it just was at the top
I didn't enjoy it when we just go to much water or not enough water

After this all was done we went out to help the environment by poring our water to the plants.
Here is a padlet about Capacity.

Tread Lightly Caravan Reflection

Tread Lightly Caravan!

This week has been a epic week!
I found out that if you reuse electronic peaces to make cool models.
I wondered how people are thinking to reuse things like electronic peaces.
The most difficult part was trying to get the kettle going.
Now I know how the solar panel needs sun to work out what its doing.
My next steps  are to turn of the lights when I am not using them.
I enjoyed seeing how many worlds we would need.
The fun part was seeing how much power you needed to work the kettle.

Maths

This term room 2 ( my class ) has been doing are times tables and division.
In our first 5 min test it was on times tables..... I got 63, in our 2nd test it was division and I got 21.

How you work out division:
Division relies on times tables because say it was 20 -: 10 =  how you would work it out is 10 x ? = 20 so you would think what the ? would be and that is the answer.
